A man with a healthy credit card balance may be more attractive to women over the age of 50, a new study suggests.
Women over 50 'looking for a financially stable man'
With Valentine's Day coming up this weekend, research conducted by Alliance & Leicester found that financial security was one of the key elements ladies within this particular age bracket said they wanted from a partner.
In addition, the majority of the women asked also said they required someone who was emotionally strong, caring, reliable and generous.
On the other hand, men over 50 placed more emphasis on a partner having good looks.
Emma Walkley, senior current account manager at the financial institution, said the results of the survey showed a number of differences between genders as they approach retirement.
"It's interesting to see just how different men and women's wish-lists become, especially when they hit their twilight years," she said.
Recent accolades for the Co-operative Bank, Barclays and Abbey may interest older consumers currently looking for a low rate credit card.
