Watch out for ID fraud: young credit card holders told
This is because people in this group are some of the most likely to fall victim to ID fraud, according to new research from CreditExpert.
Of these, those who are most at risk are those living in London and Glasgow, the study also noted.
They are twice as likely to fall victim as the national average, CreditExpert warned.
This is because those who share a hallway or rent are the easiest target for male interception, the organisation noted.
Renters are also more likely to move home and forget to redirect their post than homeowners, leaving them vulnerable to previous address fraud.
To minimise the chance of being an ID fraud victim, CreditExpert advises making sure credit card bills arrive when they are expected and destroying documents carefully that have personal details such as credit card information on them.
It is also important to remember to forward mail such as credit card statements when moving home, the organisation notes.
