Online shoppers in the UK, who use credit cards or other payment methods to buy goods from websites, have higher expectations than online shoppers in the USA, a clothes designer has suggested.

Kristine Kirby, home shopping director for Fat Face, said there was a time when companies could put products up online and people who would normally have bought in-store would buy online using a debit or credit card.
However, these days are gone and customer expectations mean that a great deal of money often has to be spent on websites to keep consumers happy.
She added that social media provides a huge opportunity for online retailers but that it had been approached the wrong way in the past.
"We tried marketing on Facebook but that was totally wrong because people are going on there to chat to their friends, not purchase products," Ms Kirby explained.
It is no surprise that companies have tried to use Facebook as a forum for marketing.
According to Experian Hitwise, one in every seven pages viewed by UK internet users is a Facebook page.
UK visits to the site have more than doubled in the past 14 months.
