Holiday firms in the UK are taking positive action to ensure consumers aren't at risk when they enter credit card details to book vacations.
Abta - the Travel Association has teamed up with other organisations in the industry, as well as London's Metropolitan Police, to stamp out fraud.
Frances Tuke, spokesperson for Abta, says engaging as many companies as possible is the only way to beat criminals.
She explains: "If walls and security are tight, then it's very difficult for fraudsters to commit fraud."
The aim of the initiative, she adds, is to "provide advice, tips and strategies in how to protect companies and to make sure that all their systems are as strong as they can be".
According to figures released by the Identity Fraud Steering Committee recently, while 99% of Brits are aware of identity fraud, 64% do not understand how best they can protect themselves against it.
