The internet a "fantastic place" for consumers
People seeking a great space to spend some cash on their credit card in the run-up to Christmas need look no further than the internet, it has been suggested.
Tony Neat, managing director of Get Safe Online, explains this is especially true when taking into consideration the current turbulence in the economic climate.
"People can go online and find some fantastic bargains, they can shop in places they normally wouldn't have access to, so opportunities are there," he states.
However, he notes that certain precautions must be taken in order to ensure individuals do not become victims of credit card fraud.
As such, the expert recommends people make certain the transactions they carry out are safe and secure, to prevent their details falling into the hands of unscrupulous individuals.
Get Safe Online is a joint initiative between businesses, the Serious Organised Crime Agency and the government which aims to help individuals protect themselves against web security risks.
