The Co-operative Bank: UK ethical market popularity grows
The ethical market in the UK was worth £36 billion last year in comparison to £13.5 billion in 1999.
This news could be of particular interest to those who consider ethical issues when choosing a credit card.
The Co-operative Bank has a customer-led ethical policy and offers a series of credit cards that contribute to good causes for every purchase made.
The Think credit card, for example, allows holders to help protect one-third of an acre of Indonesian rainforest the first time they use the card.
Furthermore, for every £100 spent on the card, 25p is donated to the RSPBs Indonesian Rainforest project.
The typical variable rate on the card is 12.9% APR and there is no annual fee with the card.
