Tesco Compare: Students should look around to find the credit card deal that suits them
Credit card comparison site Tesco Compare has advised students to shop around before choosing the best credit card deal to suit them.
It has suggested that students should not assume that their current account provider will offer the best package for them or the best deal for credit.
Tesco Compare also pointed out that there are a lot of credit card deals on the market that include free gifts and generous repayment methods.
The suggestions come as the new university term is about to begin for many people around the country, who will need to stay in control of their finances over the course of their degree programmes.
Debra Williams of Tesco Compare advised students: "Make sure you do regular reviews of your financial and insurance products to ensure they best suit your needs and consider switching to a better deal to save money. And hopefully, not only will you be graduating with a first class honours, you'll also be walking away with some first class financial know how."
NatWest is currently offering a student credit card with no annual fee and typical 18.9% APR variable. The credit card comes with a £500 maximum credit limit.
