More than 70% of credit or debit card holders who use Tesco ATM machines to withdraw money are women, according to Tesco Bank.

More than 70% of credit or debit card holders who use Tesco ATM machines to withdraw money are women, according to Tesco Bank.

New statistics from the credit card provider also revealed Tesco Bank dispenses over £400 million a week.

This is an average of over six million cash withdrawals every week.

Furthermore, according to Tesco Bank, on average £1 in every £8 in circulation comes from an ATM at Tesco.

It has the third largest ATM network in the UK, with over 3,000 cash machines.

Tesco Bank's head of ATMs, Stewart Gow said: "It's already shaping up to be a cash Christmas for most Brits this year and we're working hard to ensure our network of cash machines is well stocked to cope with record levels of demand."

Those looking for a reward credit card may want to consider the Tesco Clubcard credit card, which allows users to build up points for every purchase made.

The typical variable rate on the card is 16.9% APR.
