Writing for the Independent, James Daley explains that the UK's credit card market is one of the most competitive in the world, with many offering interest-free introductory periods and loyalty schemes.
He also notes that some can charge "hefty" interest rates.

The sector commentator explains there are more than 50 credit cards which offer 0% balance transfer deals for nine months or more, adding that balance transfers are a "great way" to help people manage their finances.
Meanwhile, an article on Fool.co.uk recently suggested that 0% balance transfer credit cards could be used to pay off "more expensive" debts such as overdrafts or loans.
