Switch credit cards 'every 18 months'
People looking to get the most out of their credit cards should swap them on a fairly regular basis, it has been advised.
Writing for the Daily Mail, James Coney says providers rely on two things to make money from customers - loyalty and laziness.
He suggests that they hope people will forget to pay their bills each month and that spending will incur the highest rate of interest.
"The best way to make the most from credit cards is to switch them every 18 months or so," Mr Coney recommends.
He states people need not be concerned that moving from provider to provider will impact on their credit score, as it will not be affected as long as the debts continue to be paid off in a timely fashion.
Meanwhile, in recent days, Neil Munroe, director of external affairs with Equifax, suggested that prepaid credit cards could become more prevalent this year.
