Students should be taught that credit card debts and overdrafts are different from student loans, it has been suggested.

Chris Tapp, director of Credit Action, said that there should also be more financial education for students.
He warned that 18-year-olds are opened up to all kinds of different debts and different credit products.
"It's important to make a distinction between the kind of burden that you face with student debt as opposed to any other type of debt," Mr Tapp commented.
According to a report published this week by the NUS and HSBC, mathematical sciences and computer science are the most expensive degrees, with students having to find an extra £1,430 every year to pay for books, equipment and fieldwork.
Student on education degrees pay the least amount, at £432.48.
