A student account with an optional credit card has been launched by NatWest.
The account offers students a free NatWest student credit card with a £500 limit, subject to terms and conditions.
It also includes up to £1,250 interest free overdraft in the first year of study.
Students who open their account online will receive a free 4GB USB stick with additional security software worth £31. NatWest is also offering a five-year 16-25 Railcard to all students who open the account.
Phil Cook, head of NatWest student and graduate banking, said: "NatWest has been voted 'Best Student Bank' for the fifth year in a row and we want to continue delivering financial advantages, such as the exceptional interest free overdraft facility and practical benefits such as the Railcard."
Student customers are also offered expertise and support from the bank, Mr Cook continued.
HSBC has also recently launched a student account with an optional credit card. Called the Early Bird account, it can be applied for as soon as students have confirmed a place at a university.
