'Staycations are popular this summer as people choose to save money'
Many people are choosing to save money by staying in the UK for their summer holiday, called a staycation, it has been suggested.

There are a number of factors which have contributed to the trend, Peter Joyner, spokesperson for Hoseasons, said.
According to the self-catering holiday specialist, the strength of the euro against the pound, combined with the current economic climate has meant that people have been more inclined to stay closer to home.
"They still want their holiday but they want tighter control over the budget they are going to be allowing themselves. What they've done is book UK holidays where they know they can control their budget than if they went abroad," he said.
Those who are going away in the UK or abroad this summer have been advised by credit card comparison service Tesco Compare to ensure that their homes are protected against burglars.
Measures that holidaymakers could take include making sure their home does not look as if it is empty, by leaving blinds and curtains open.
