Splitting up could impact on credit card customers' pockets
A new piece of research by Callcredit indicates just over half (55 per cent) of women believe that splitting up with their partner would leave them in a less stable financial position.
Meanwhile, just under half (49 per cent) of their male counterparts feel the same way.
The demographic which appears to be most concerned about splitting up due to financial reasons are women between the ages of 35 and 44, with 60 per cent of respondents from this age group saying they would feel fiscally insecure should their relationship break down.
Owen Roberts, the head of callcheckcredit.com, said: "Arguments over money can cause real problems in a relationship."
Meanwhile, according to the Apacs regional payments map, 64 per cent of adults in Britain have a charge or credit card.
