Simple credit card sees increased sales
A credit card that offers uncomplicated services has seen a 10% increase in sales over the past year.
The Co-operative Bank Clear credit card prides itself on being simple and transparent with no hidden fees.
It offers one standard rate for all credit card transactions, including bank transfers, cash withdrawals and purchases.
The credit card also offers 12.9% APR typical/variable and up to 59 days interest free credit from the date on which the account is opened.
Other perks include up to £25,000 free travel accident insurance when the credit card is used to pay for tickets.
David Fawell, head of credit cards at the Co-operative Bank, said: "We have seen an increased demand for our clear card as many customers now look for simplicity and a transparent charging structure when choosing their banking products. The Clear Credit Card is a straightforward, no-nonsense credit card with one competitive rate and no hidden fees."
The Co-operative Bank also donates 1.25p to charities for every £100 customers spend on their credit cards.
Tesco has also launched a charity campaign to raise money for children with muscular dystrophy. For every transaction made using a cash machine at Tesco until the end of February 2010, Tesco will make a donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
