Shoppers 'head online for Christmas'
Shoppers looking to make the most of any discounts ahead of the Christmas period should head online, a report claims.
The Telegraph notes that a number of retailers offer specific discounts to online users through social media sites.
Paying by credit card for items from online stores may be a popular choice for some consumers, although other payment methods are available.
Taking advantage of discounts available online could help consumers to save money over the festive season, the paper suggests, noting that such offers tend to be popular.
"Whenever we tweet a discount code, it's then retweeted voluntarily by our followers which is a sure sign that discount codes are popular," a spokesperson for Debenhams, Ed Watson, said.
He added that some discounts are exclusively for users of social media sites.
It was recently suggested by home shopping director for Fat Face Kristine Kirby that online shoppers in the UK are more demanding than their counterparts in the US.
