Overseas travel and learning from other cultures is a high priority for parents in the UK, according to credit card provider HSBC.
However, one of the greatest worries facing parents when their children are travelling is how they might cope if they got into trouble and needed help.
HSBC has recently launched a plan called Premier Family Service which helps parents to teach their children about managing finances and understanding the real value of money.
The package includes a supplementary credit card for over 18s giving financial security when travelling abroad on their own.
It also offers immediate financial support for children travelling abroad.
HSBC has also recently launched master classes for young people to learn about managing their finances. The seminars will feature appearances by celebrities such as rugby star Danny Cipriani.
