Santander Cards: 'Winter sports holidays most expensive since millennium'
This news, combined with the weak value of the pound, has led the credit card provider to suggest some skiers may be tempted to keep away from the premium European destinations this year.
Santander Cards discovered that a package deal including equipment hire and ski pass, costs £1,557 in Meribel and £1,512 in Val d'Isere.
However, the credit card provider has suggested that the price hikes, which can be as high as 15 per cent, do not have to affect skiers travel plans.
Santander recommends its Zero card, which offers fee-free foreign usage anywhere in the world.
The typical variable rate on the card is 18.9% APR, with 0% for 12 months on balance transfers from the date on which the account is opened with a 3% fee and a minimum of £5.
