Sainsbury's Bank: Men set to hit the shops on Christmas Eve
Male consumers are more likely to wait until Christmas Eve before taking their credit cards down to the shops to pick up their gifts for loved ones, according to new research by Sainsbury's bank.
A study by the financial services provider indicates more than half (54 per cent) of men will be doing some last-minute bargain hunting on December 24th, in comparison to 39 per cent of their female counterparts.
Meanwhile, 55 per cent of people between the ages of 16 and 24 will be heading out the night before Christmas, while 29 per cent of those over the age of 65 will be picking up some presents just before December 25th.
Donald MacLeod, head of Sainsbury's Credit Cards, comments: "Christmas Eve has always been a hectic time for shoppers and it looks like this year will be no exception.
"The high street is set to be very busy as millions of people rush to buy last-minute presents."
Sainsbury's credit card offers zero per cent for the first three months on all shopping.
