Saga: Credit card providers should make it easier for people to pay off debts
Saga, which offers the Saga platinum credit card, has stated that it is not surprised that people can feel angry at credit card providers who make it more difficult for them to pay off their credit card debt.
Roger Ramsden, chief executive of Saga Personal Finance, said Saga believes in treating customers fairly.
It is for this reason that Saga allows card holders to pay off their most expensive debt first.
"If credit card providers won't put their own house in order then we urge the government to outlaw this sharp practice," he added.
As well as making it easier for holders to pay off their most expensive debts first, the Saga platinum credit card offers 0% on purchases for the first nine months, subject to terms and conditions.
There is also a 0% foreign currency charge on transactions in Visa Europe, with a 1% charge elsewhere.
