Prepaid currency card provider Post Office Travel Services has revealed two in five people in the UK are working at some point over the festive period.
The Post Office Travel Services' Holiday Entitlement Index also reveals 7% of these people will be missing out on their holiday entitlement as a result.
Those aged between 18 and 24 are most likely to miss out of festivities this Christmas and New Year, with 50% of those polled saying they will work at some stage.
Head of Post Office Travel Services Sarah Munro suggested that for those who do manage to get away this Christmas and New Year, it can be stressful trying to arrange time off and juggling workloads.
"That's why at the Post Office we offer a one-stop-shop for travel services - providing currency, travel insurance and passport and EHIC services to make life easier for UK travellers," she said.
Prepaid travel cards can also make travelling easier. The Post Office prepaid Travel Money Card offers a secure and convenient way to carry holiday money.
Prepaid currency cards are also available from Caxton FX and Fair FX.
