Potential credit card users 'should be able to explore the market'
Consumers should be able to look at available credit card rates without having to make a full application, it has been suggested.

According to Fair Invest, making a full application could harm users' chances of getting credit elsewhere if they are refused.
Director at the company James Caldwell commented that it is time that something is done about this issue.
His comments follow news from the Treasury Select Committee that it has launched an enquiry into how consumers' credit reports are affected by multiple credit searches by lenders.
Mr Caldwell welcomed the committee's announcement, stating that it is important that credit card users can compare the market to find the best deals.
"It's high time that something was done about the fact that every time someone applies for a credit card or loan, it can leave a black mark on their credit report.
"This restricts a consumer's access to cheaper credit in the future, and is a deterrent to shopping around," he said.
Having several credit checks on consumers' files can make it more difficult for them to borrow money as other lenders assume they have applied for products and been rejected.
