Pensioners warned of credit card fraud risk

Old people are more likely to be targeted by fraudsters, Saga Magazine has warned.
The publication's editor-at-large, Emma Soames, advises pensioners to be constantly vigilant as many criminals expect them to be more vulnerable - and profitable - than younger demographics.
Ms Soames explains: "They rightly or wrongly target over-65s because they believe they are more likely to pay out for phoney shares or hand over their personal bank details.
"Older people are thought to have more money, which is another reason they are targeted."
However, she warns that simple precautionary measures could limit the amount of fraud, including on credit cards, among this generation.
Tips include never revealing personal information such as bank details and pin numbers or hanging up the phone if a company sounds unfamiliar or suspicious.
A recent Financial Services Authority survey revealed that nearly a quarter (23%) of people aged over 65 feared they could become victims of fraud this year.
Almost a half (49%) maintained they do not have enough information to protect themselves from it.
