Those looking to invest in a new prepaid credit card may be interested to hear the results of a recent awards ceremony.
It was announced this week that PayPal UK had been honoured at the Card Awards scooping the title of best new prepaid card.
Judged by an independent panel, it was found that the PayPal Top Up card - a reloadable Visa which can be used wherever the symbol is shown - excelled in a number of areas.
The group said the winners were chosen based on the ability to provide a creative and transparent product that offered true value to its customers.
Carl Scheible, managing director of PayPal UK said: "The card has proved a big hit with customers, enabling them to pay with PayPal on the high street as well as online."
He added it was also a simple means for people to keep track of their spending at a time when everyone is concerned about the economy.
The PayPal Top Up card is issued by the Royal Bank of Scotland and applicants are not subjected to a credit check.
