'Pay as much as you can' on credit cards
Credit card customers should aim to pay off as much of their bill as they can when they have the opportunity to do so, it has been suggested.
In an articles for the Guardian, sector commentator Lisa Bachelor states this may seem like a "blindingly obvious" statement, but explains it can be "all too easy" to make bare minimum payments every month.
She explains that paying credit card bills off sooner rather than later will reap a number of rewards, from avoiding restless nights, to making sure there is a little extra money in a bank account.
Ms Bachelor suggests people should consider moving to a cheaper credit card, but not apply for too many cards at once, as multiple failed applications could damage a credit rating.
A recent article by James Coney in the Daily Mail recommended people look to swap their credit cards every 18 months or so.
