Opera star learns benefits of credit cards
Singing sensation Lesley Garrett has spoken out about the advantages of paying with plastic.
The 53-year-old confesses she used to be terrified to take her credit card from her purse for fear of mounting debt, the Telegraph reports.
However, she's since discovered using the card for large purchases like aeroplane tickets carries enormous security benefits.
Ms Garrett explains to the newspaper: "I have been reading about the consumer protection advantage that using credit cards offers, so I might change my mind and start using my credit card for that reason."
She adds holidays have always been her biggest financial extravagance, admitting she doesn't mind splashing out on "nice accommodation" when abroad.
Former England cricket captain Michael Vaughn is another celebrity who recently expounded the benefits of credit cards, telling the Telegraph earlier this month: "[They] are handy for when you're abroad."
