The piece states offshore credit cards often provide the same privileges any major traditional cards offer, such as car rental benefits, cash advances and insurance.
It adds the majority of good offshore credit cards are secured, meaning that a certain amount of money must be deposited into an account to use one, as well as filling out the normal application.
"Personal offshore credit cards can still be usefully employed on holiday, or if you travel abroad regularly," the article concludes.
Meanwhile, sector commentator Rachel Robson recently told the Motley Fool website that to be aware of overseas credit card costs, recommending travellers make themselves aware of any additional charges they could face before heading off on holiday.
