New card to hold multiple credit cards
Coin is a new card that can hold information on multiple credit cards, gift cards and loyalty cards.
A new card is set to be released that can hold multiple credit cards, gift cards and loyalty cards.
Coin, a new card from a startup of the same name, swipes as an ordinary card would has any existing cards stored onto it using its app.
The device was founded by former PayPal developer Kanishk Parashar and is due to be released in August 2014 for $100 (£62.30) or $50 for those who pre-order it.
It is intended to reduce wallet clutter and simplify purchasing transactions using the familiar technique of swiping a credit card.
Coin's dongle device is provided to users who connect it to their phone and then an app onto which they can download their card information. The card uses Bluetooth Low Energy and Coin claims its battery lasts up to two years.
Companies have been trying for some time to replace existing credit cards and wallets with something more digitised, Google Wallet is one example.
