A national newspaper has tipped credit cards from Nationwide and the Post Office as among the best for people travelling abroad this Easter.
The Independent claims paying by plastic is often the cheapest way to manage money while on holiday, especially as the providers it singled out do not currently charge a load fee for overseas transactions.
While Nationwide is set to introduce one later this year, the newspaper states that the 1% fee it has set is still "cheaper than the typical 3%".
Other tips for spending abroad include remembering to pay off credit card balances in full upon receipt of a statement.
According to the Independent, it is the best way to "avoid being charged any interest".
In related travel news, actor Ian Lavender recently confessed he is a big fan of credit cards for the air miles rewards they offer.
The 63-year-old, who shot to fame playing bumbling Private Pike in the long-running TV series Dad's Army, told the Telegraph his Lloyds TSB Duo card and Virgin Atlantic American Express give him a good excuse to regularly holiday abroad.
