M&S Money: Football fans must have adequate insurance
The card provider suggested fans should not leave buying travel insurance until the last minute.
Travellers often use their travel insurance before their holiday has started and so it is important to have it in place ahead of time.
M&S Money stated its premier travel insurance offers up to £6,000 cover for any irrecoverable unused travel or accommodation if, for example, insurance holders or their travel partner becomes ill before the holiday, or if they are made redundant or called up for jury service.
Steve Price, M&S head of general insurance, said: "It's great news that England have qualified for the finals and thousands of fans will now be looking forward to heading to South Africa next June.
"Tickets for the matches will no doubt be hot property, but fans should also think about what they would do if the worst happens."
M&S is also currently offering a credit card that allows holders to collect points to be used in store.
There is an interest rate of 0% on all shopping for ten months from the date on which the account is opened, and a typical rate of 15.9% APR variable.
