An online service provided by credit card company MBNA has been praised at an industry event.
This year's annual Card Awards selected the firm's MBNA Connect as its Best Online Initiative winner for 2009.
Users can download applications with the service, as well as monitor account balances securely, check transactions and offers, order statements and set up desktop alerts on their computer.
A spokesman for Skinkers, the company that developed the technology behind the system, said the group was "delighted" to have been recognised at the event.
David Long, chief executive of the firm, said: "We hope that we can work with MBNA in the future to bring together all their customer communications under our technology platform."
Other winners at the event were the Co-operative Bank, which took the Best Charity and Corporate Social Responsibility Programme awards and the Abbey Zero card - honoured as the Best New Product of the Year.
