A credit card offered by Lloyds TSB has been tipped among the best for flight freebies.

Financial advisor Martin Lewis told the News of the World that getting hold of an Airmiles Duo card via the airmiles.co.uk website before the end of the month entitles holders to 1,500 free airmiles.

This approximates to a free British Airways European return, including taxes, to destinations including Budapest, Stockholm, Ibiza and Cagliari.

Mr Lewis added it is also possible to acquire two all-in return flights to more popular cities like Paris or Amsterdam.

However, he warned: "The big negative here is you must book at least one night in a hotel via the Airmiles website and these tend to be a tad higher-end."

The Lloyds TSB Airmiles Duo card won best new credit card product 2008 at the Card Awards.

According to the provider's website, consumers can benefit from a six month balance transfer offer (a 3% fee applies) and a typical 15.9% APR variable.
