When on holiday this year, credit card customers are more likely to head down to local markets to make purchases rather than patronise major retail outlets, it has been suggested.

Sarah Butler from Aldi Travel explains it will be more probable that people will pick up their supplies and souvenirs from such bazaars as they look to tighten their purse strings.
"People will be mixing with the locals and bringing the costs down that way," she explains.
The expert notes in addition to reducing costs by shopping in more innovative fashions, it could also be the case that credit card consumers begin looking at other destinations, where their money could go further.
"People will get back to discovering British holidays whether that is down in Devon or two-night city breaks," she concludes.
Ms Butler's comments follow the recent publication of a survey by Aldi Travel called Thrifty Brits Cut Back on Holidays.
It found five per cent of people go on a break with no insurance to save money.
