Holidaymakers issued credit card warning
Brits looking to spend their Easter holiday in Denmark could have celebrations cut short on Saturday night (April 11th) after warnings credit card systems may not work.
The Copenhagen Post reports electronic payment service PBS has issued a notice explaining services may be down for a few hours over Saturday night and Sunday morning, with local credit card holders expected to experience most disruption between 4am and 4:50am.
However, tourists using international credit cards can expect longer delays of two hours between 4am and 6am on Easter Sunday, according to reports.
As a result, foreign revellers have been advised to carry enough cash to see their party through the small hours.
It is not all bad news for international credit card holders, however, with the Copenhagen Post revealing last month that supermarket chain Dansk Supermarked will be accepting foreign cards as payment from the start of May.
The move is part of wider efforts by PBS to ensure consumers will be able to use international payment cards in two out of three Danish stores by 2012.
