Halifax 'has no plans to restrict credit cards to current account holders'
Halifax bank has announced it has no plans to make credit cards available to just current account holders.
A spokesperson for the credit card provider said that cards are available to both new and existing customers, under both the Halifax and Lloyds TSB sides of the business.
He added that Halifax has tended to do well in the past as it offers some 0% deals.
"We have always been competitively priced, and we do tend to be a best-buy as well. That tends to be a driver of business.
"We continue to offer best-buy products that are available to new and existing customers," the spokesperson continued.
The Halifax spokesperson was making the comments in response to news that the NatWest Classic credit card is only available to current account customers with an income of at least £10,000 a year and aged 18 or over, as of October 1st 2009.
