Pre-paid currency card issuer FairFX.com has suggested that people intending to travel to the States in the next few months could benefit from exchanging some of their money now.
The advice comes as the pound's value against the US dollar reaches its highest level in ten months.
Chief executive Stephen Heath suggested that the value of the pound is good for the UK economy and for British travellers travelling to the states.
He pointed out that the pound has rebounded 25% from the 23-year low to which it fell in January this year.
FairFX has also warned those looking to spend money abroad not to be misled by exchange bureaus that offer 0% commission or no fee as this often masks the true cost, which is factored into the exchange rate.
According to Stephen Heath: "A good currency card gives travellers the choice about when they fund their trip, getting Dollars now could help someone to budget for a future holiday, or simply mean they've locked in the best rate available so far this year."
