Equifax: New film reflects real female shopping habits
Named Confessions of a Shopaholic, the movie shows the character running up large debts.
Equifax's Credit Report has revealed almost half (44%) of the 675 female consumers interviewed would not be able to keep afloat with money within the first month after they lost their job.
Additionally, over a third (38%) of women interviewed on the run up to Christmas had been refused credit, while 34% did not know how they could afford an unexpected large bill.
External affairs director for Equifax Neil Munroe said: "Loss of income and job losses are hitting news headlines every day, which means many women are in a very vulnerable financial position."
In other news, a finance website has said that making bill payments on time helps your credit rating.
According to David Kuo, head of personal finance at Fool.co.uk, customers should have "reasonable control" of their money situation.
