Endorsement for airline credit cards
Airline credit cards have been branded a "worthwhile investment" by a Manchester consumer.
Julian Sokoloff was interviewed about his spending habits for a feature in the Manchester Evening News about the cards.
Mr Sokoloff, who has a BA Amex Premium Plus Card, earns 1.5 BA miles for nearly every pound he spends.
In addition, if he spends more than £10,000 on his card in a year he qualifies for a free ticket for a companion when booking with BA miles.
"We consider the card a worthwhile investment as we are planning a trip for my wife's 40th birthday in 2010 and we want the ability to fly first class to any destination of our choice," Mr Sokoloff said.
He added that by paying off his balance in full every month he avoids any interest charges the card provider levies.
In related news, Qantas has warned its Frequent Flyers customers that they have until the end of the month to convert their points after announcing it will bypass credit card companies in future by offering air miles directly.
