The best credit card for online services was named as Egg in the first ever Moneywise Customer Service Awards.

Moneywise magazine set out six months ago to find out what customers thought of the financial services industry.

It received 10,000 responses and the winners of the survey were announced at a black-tie gala in London.

As well as naming Egg as the best credit card for online services, consumers voted Capital One as the runner-up.

The best overall credit card for paying bills each month was named as Capital One, with Marks & Spencer money coming in as the runner-up.

Moneywise magazine publishing director Jeremy King said: "After months of hard work we are delighted to finally be able to give consumers a compass as to which financial services companies they can trust and expect to receive good customer service from."

Egg is currently offering a credit card with 0% interest until 1st July 2010 on transfers before 1st September 2009, with a 3% fee.
