Designer adds stylish edge to credit card shopping

Italian designer Roberto Cavalli has announced the launch of a new credit card with his own unique twist on it.

The fashion guru, who is known for the use of bold animal prints in his work, has created a Mastercard branded to himself.

Featuring a snakeskin signature print and iridescent colouring, the Cavalli Card gives holders a wide range of fashion-based benefits.

These include dedicated VIP services at the designer's boutiques, invitations to exclusive events such as fashion shows and access to special sales.

In a statement, Cavalli, whose previous design ventures include mobile phones, wine and vodka, said: "I love to immerse myself in new projects - they stimulate my creativity."

The Cavalli Card, which has been created in collaboration with Corpcom, is set to be launched during Milan's women's fashion week, which takes place in March.

Applications for the designer plastic can be made through Cavalli's own website.
