Dad's Army star enjoys air miles benefits of card
The 63-year-old, who shot to fame playing bumbling Private Pike in the long-running TV series Dad's Army, admitted to the Telegraph it took him a long time to recognise the benefits of paying by plastic.
However, Mr Lavender started to understand the attraction 20 years ago when he started paying for his petrol on card "so I could have my travel listed on one statement".
He told the news source: "Now I use card for all sorts of purchases".
In particular, Mr Lavender's Lloyds TSB Duo card is popular for the air miles it garners, alongside his Virgin Atlantic American Express "for the same reason".
The former was voted winner of the best new credit card product 2008 at the Card Awards, the provider's website states.
It offers air miles on purchases, a six month balance transfer offer and a typical 15.9% APR.
