Credit cards offer safer transactions when travelling abroad
Credit cards are "probably one of the safest ways to pay" when travelling abroad according to advice from the UK trade association for payments, Apacs.

Debit and credit cards can offer an extra layer of protection under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act, a PR assistant at Apacs has said.
Section 75 states that any goods that cost over £100 and under £30,000 and are faulty or are not received, can be claimed back.
Ms Frederick also suggested that credit cards offer protection to victims of theft. Travellers who have euros stolen are unlikely to get them back whereas "if you're taking a card, then, unless they've got your pin they can't spend any money and you won't have lost much".
Apacs also advice consumers to take their card issuer's address and emergency phone number when travelling abroad.
According to statistics from the UK Cards Association, there were 317 million overseas transactions on UK issued cards last year. This is a total of three per cent of all transactions on credit cards in the UK.
