The Facet system prepares files for court, saving hours of work that would normally be spent manually inputting documents.
Items such as witness statements and exhibits are presented and linked together by the new technology, making it easier to access and search for important information.
Detective constable Kevin Pratt, a fraud investigator with Nottinghamshire police, said: "The ability to scan bank and credit card statements has resulted in huge savings in time and manpower. Work that used to take two to three weeks now takes just two to three days."
More than £315 million has been saved through financial fraud prevention by the Dedicated Cheque and Plastic Crime Unit (DCPCU).
The unit announced this week that more than 335,000 compromised credit cards and card numbers have been recovered since it was set up seven years ago.
