Credit card spenders 'should know their rights'
An initiative has been launched called Know your Consumer Rights, reminding consumers of what to do if they purchase goods using credit cards or other payment methods that they are not satisfied with.
The scheme is part of a partnership between the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Trading Standards Institute, Consumer Direct, Consumer Focus and the Office of Fair Trading.
It highlights the importance of establishing what consumers are entitled to, such as a refund, repair or replacement, when they pay for something they are not happy with.
The launch comes as credit card provider Barclays predicts record amounts are likely to be spent on the UK's high streets this December.
Barclays is currently offering the Barclaycard platinum Simplicity credit card, with a typical variable rate of 6.8% APR.
