The site will now also include functions to notify Barclays when customers wish to use their debit card overseas and enable users to view current offers.
Barclaycard, the bank's credit card business, is also due to have its website relaunched with an improved account management facility.
The new online credit card system will be called mybarclaycard and is due to be launched soon.
The credit card site will allow credit card holders to track their spending using charts, switch to paperless statements and tell the bank when they are going abroad to ensure they can still use their credit card.
To help prevent customers being targeted by banking and credit card fraud, the bank uses a two-factor authentication system called PINsentry.
Since the system's launch in 2007, there has been a significant reduction in online fraud losses, according to Barclays.
Sean Gilchrist, Barclays digital banking director, commented that the bank continues to pioneer new technology to ensure online banking is as secure as possible.
"With more people using online banking every day it is important that the site looks fresh and the content is relevant. The new design and layout makes it easier to use which ultimately helps customers stay in control of their money," he said.
