Credit card holders 'should read the changes to card charges'
Credit card users are being advised to read the small print of changes to card charges.
Credit card holders 'should read the changes to card charges'
The advice follows the announcement by American Express that there will be billing changes for its Platinum cashback card holders, according to the Daily Mail.
Changes include an earlier direct debit withdrawal date and money being taken from accounts about 14 days after statements are sent.
A £20 fee will also be charged to Platinum card holders who do not use their card for a year.
A spokesperson told the paper: "If the new changes mean that the payment date is inconvenient then they can call us and change their billing period to a better date."
Platinum American Express card members receive airport lounge access when they go abroad, annual travel insurance and preferential treatment when they travel.
