Credit card holders going to festivals this year have been advised to keep their credit cards, cash and driving license in separate places.
Credit card holders 'should keep their credit cards and cash separately at festivals'
This should reduce the risk of all three being stolen together, according to Callcredit Check.
The credit report provider stated that a total of 15 per cent of Brits have fallen victim to financial crime at festivals.
Research from the provider has shown that 25 to 34 year olds are the hardest hit, with as many as 19 per cent having been affected.
Callcredit Check's research found that over half of those exposed to crime at festivals have had their wallets stolen.
The company advised festival goers to ensure that they know where their debit and credit cards are at all times as they can be cloned very quickly and so should not be taken out of sight.
Credit card holders are also advised to check their bank statements for small unrecognised amounts on their return, as these can appear before larger fraudulent purchases.
Owen Roberts, ID fraud prevention expert at Callcredit Check, also recommended: "Checking your credit report regularly and signing up to email alerts will notify you of any changes to your credit report as soon as they happen. These changes could be an indication of ID fraud, so we urge you to keep track of all movements."
In other credit card news, Santander cards has recommended the Zero credit card for spending money abroad as it is the only card on the market offering fee-free foreign usage anywhere in the world.
