Credit card advice offered to rugby fans
M&S Money has offered some advice to credit card holders heading to South Africa from Britain and Ireland for the first test match.
The credit card provider offered the advice since fans often pay thousands of pounds to follow the rugby team and will want to make the most of their money while abroad.
Debit and credit card holders should make sure that their cards are not due to expire while they are abroad. If necessary, credit card holders should organise replacement cards before they leave for South Africa, according to M&S Money.
Rugby fans should also make a note of their credit card details and phone numbers of card providers before heading off to the test match, in case they need them in an emergency.
Credit card holders should take a copy of these details with them and leave another copy at home with their travellers cheque numbers and insurance policy details, M&S Money advised.
James Yerkess, M&S Travel Money manager, said: "A trip to see the Lions play in South Africa is a dream for every British rugby fan. With package tours costing many hundreds of pounds, supporters will want to make the most of their cash when on tour."
M&S offers a credit card with 0% interest on all shopping for ten months from account opening. The credit card also gives customers 0% on balance transfers for six months with a 2% transfer fee.
