Co-operative bank wins two credit card awards
The Co-operative Bank has been given two awards for its range of credit cards, it has emerged.
As part of the Card Awards, which also saw Abbey walk away with the main prize for its Zero offering, the bank scored in two categories for its Woodland Trust Credit Card and its Customers Who Care scheme.
The former was voted as the winner of the Best Charity category and the latter was praised as Best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme - as it offers 1.25% on every £100 spent plastic.
Martin Fielding, chief executive of the Card Awards, said the judges had been "overwhelmed" by the number of companies to choose from in the CSR category, adding that this shows the "caring side" of lenders.
"[We] liked the synergy between The Co-operative Bank and the Woodland Trust, and the fact that the card is provided by a bank with a strong ethical reputation," he added.
