Consumers who prepay for items using their credit card or other payment method and do not receive their order need greater protection, it has been proposed.

According to Consumer Focus, which campaigns for a fair deal for consumers, shoppers get only three pence in a pound back when a company goes bust and assets have been sold off.
Banks, on the other hand, receive a total of 35 pence in a pound, spokesperson for Consumer Focus Russell Guthrie, said.
His comments follow research from the watchdog group which found that nearly one in ten consumers who have made a prepayment by credit card or other payment method over the last two years did not receive their order.
"We are looking for quick action from them, because we are in the recession at the moment and the number of companies that are going bust are up 40 per cent on this quarter last year, which just shows you the scale of the problem," Mr Guthrie commented.
